The owners of this home near Bath wanted to create a luxurious bathroom for relaxation and retreat. Creating a zen, spa-like space was at the top of the wishlist, as was creating a contemporary design with all the latest fixtures, fittings and technology.

Our designer incorporated many elements of a spa within this space, including a deep whirlpool bath and separate steam room. The Crittall-style steam room door and internal window add a stylish, contemporary edge and match the matt black brassware used throughout the room. Multiple layers of lighting were added to help create atmosphere, including colour changing lights in the bath and steam room areas which can be changed to suit the mood. Speakers were also incorporated throughout to add to the spa-inspired experience.

Storage space was included in the high-shine vanity unit as well as within a hidden niche behind the LED mirror, perfect for stowing away any clutter and enhancing the pared-back aesthetic. To add interest to the minimalist scheme, our designer chose striking large-format marble tiles, with hints of brown veining to add a subtle warmth and timeless pattern. A full-width mirror was also added to break up the marble and to bounce light around the room, in turn making it feel bigger.
