Meet the maker: GRAFF
In this article we focus on luxury brassware brand GRAFF, to find out more about its heritage and eco-credentials.
GRAFF is recognised globally for its impeccably-designed luxury brassware collections, featuring special finish taps, showers and bath mixers. For GRAFF, sustainability, quality and cutting-edge design go hand in hand. From using lead-free materials in its products to reducing waste in its manufacturing, GRAFF implements strict conservation standards throughout its factory to create its iconic eco-conscious products.
The latest manufacturing techniques
GRAFF is truly a vertically-integrated manufacturer, with each product being engineered, manufactured and inspected in-house. With GRAFF retaining total control of every step in the manufacturing process, its products are quickly brought to market with the highest levels of form and function.
GRAFF has learnt from the tradition of old-world craftsmanship but uses the best in modern manufacturing techniques to create its cutting-edge collections. By eliminating waste in the form of time, energy and materials, each process within GRAFF’s factory achieves substantial efficiencies, even with all the foundry, metal finishing and modernised plating involved in the manufacturing process. GRAFF also has a zero-discharge system that recycles 100% of brass and paper product.
Inside GRAFF’s state-of-the-art factory, each step is carefully hand checked by its in-house lab and then processed through high-precision machines until the final artfully designed product is delivered.
Eco-credentials
With its factory adjoining a national park, GRAFF embraces being actively green, protecting the environment by meeting strict conservation standards. To respect nature, while also ensuring product quality and design aesthetics, GRAFF uses brass. Brass is a stable alloy that needs few additives in its preparation, thus making recycling easier.
GRAFF also works closely with the LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) green building rating system. This third-party certification program is an accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance buildings.
The collections
The above processes culminate in 24 separate bathroom collections, each with its own distinct style and function. The ‘Harley’ collection, for example, draws inspiration from the iconic motorcyle brand, incorporating an industrial aesthetic with details nostalgic of the all-American icons. The ‘Cameo’ collection, on the other hand, exudes glamour with tap handles and details finished in precious metals including 24k gold. Each collection showcases something stylistic different but offers the same breathtaking quality which GRAFF has become renowned for.
