Ripples radar: 5 emerging trends to try in your shower room

Our designers have hand-picked five of their favourite emerging trends to add that something special to your shower room.

1 | Fluted wall panels

These large format wall panels are easy to install and provide an alternative wall-covering to tiles. Made from Akron, they benefit from being impact-resistant and antibacterial, making them perfect for shower areas. With a soft wave design, the panels are available in 2,000 RAL colours meaning they can match the other items within your space.

| Mixed brassware

Mixed brassware is growing in popularity as it’s a great way to create an eclectic scheme which showcases your personality. This trend involves using multiple metal finishes within a single bathroom space, such as pairing Brushed Nickel basin taps with a Brushed Bronze shower. This approach creates interest, particularly as each brassware type will mature and some will even develop their own patina or ‘living finish’ over time.

3 | Colourful shower trays

A colourful shower tray is a great way to add personality to your room. Many designs are available in the full suite of RAL colours so you can find the perfect shade to match your space. Choosing a shower tray which picks out a colour from your wall or floor tiles is a great way to embrace this look and keep your design looking co-ordinated and cohesive.

4 | Layers of lighting

Shower room lighting no longer needs to be restricted to just ceiling lights or the occasional downlighter. We’re seeing more and more demand for mixed lighting schemes, including a combination of pendants, wall lights, underlighting and sensor lighting. This is the perfect trend for those wanting to create a stylish yet practical space.

5 | Pops of pink

After the colour green has dominated bathrooms for the last few seasons, pinks are having a moment right now, and if any colour can give a home a hug, it's this one. It adds sweetness to a decorative scheme without being too sickly and makes a room feel comfortable and welcoming. Pink is also a great colour for bathrooms as it evokes positivity making it the perfect shade to surround yourself with when kickstarting or ending your day. A pared-back dusky hue is a great base to pair with less vibrant colour such as grey, white and black, as it brings instant warmth to the space.
