Ripples radar: 6 bathroom trends to look out for this spring/summer
Our designers give you the lowdown on the biggest trends they’re seeing emerge in bathroom design for spring/summer 2024.
1 | A fresh take on fluting
The trend for fluting in bathrooms shows no signs of disappearing but is certainly evolving. This trend is no longer so prominent on furniture but is growing in popularity on glass elements such as wall lights, pendant lights and shower screens.
3 | Mixed brassware
Mixed brassware is becoming increasingly common. This trend involves using multiple metal finishes within a single bathroom space, such as pairing Brushed Nickel basin taps with a Brushed Bronze shower. This trend creates interest throughout a scheme, particularly as each brassware type will mature and some will even develop their own patina over time.
4 | Adding variety with vanities
We’re seeing more and more colour being introduced through vanity units. Deep, rich tones tend to be the most popular although pastels work well too. As interiors trends follow fashion trends, we’re expecting yellow to soon emerge as the sought-after colour to try.
6 | Shape over pattern
We’re seeing an emerging trend for tiles which add interest through shape rather than pattern. After a huge amount of interest for heavily patterned tiles over recent years, we’re seeing the trend move to neutral tones in pentagonal, hexagonal and even triangular formats.
