Best of both worlds

Blending traditional style with modern fittings, this elegant bathroom sits proudly within its Victorian terraced surroundings. The three-bedroom property is spread over three floors with town centre amenities and a local park nearby, making it the perfect family home.

The centrepiece of the new bathroom is a striking freestanding roll-top bath, which is complemented by a bath/shower mixer and fittings in an on-trend brass finish. “The original bathroom was very dated,” explains Jo. “It was beige in colour yet quite dark due to the tiling and layout. It’s not a large space but even so, it was not being used to its full potential.” The owners wanted Jo to create a light, bright and airy family bathroom in keeping with the Victorian charm of the property. Whilst they wanted a traditional style, they also asked for an industrial modern twist. “They came to me with a very clear view on the styles they liked,” adds Jo, “which included the use of brass fittings and navy blue.” Practical and design-led, the new scheme features a dark blue tub and furniture set against a backdrop of white antique-style brick tiles and patterned flooring, bringing the old and new together in one exceptional space.
